Last night, Lucky Brand Jeans launched the winning handbags that were designed by two students at Parson New School for Design. The Lucky winners are Jordan Weymouth Richards, and Benyam Assefa. Both winning handbags were Boho-chic, with vintage appeal which perfectly fits with the Lucky Brand characteristic. Yet, each artist brought their own unique sense of style that represents them as designers. For Jordan Weymouth Richards, participating in the competition and winning was an electrifying experience. Her design was inspired by the natural patterns found in the deep, dark jungles along the banks of Africa. Patch work strips of yellow, green, purple, blue and red created an almost wave like pattern on the bag. This is just the starting point for this ambitious senior soon to graduate and enter into the world of fashion.
Benyam Assefa dream also came true, as he witness his winning creation on the floor of Lucky Brand. As a men’s wear designer, it was a big challenge to step out of his comfort zone and tackle such a specific area of the market, which paid off. Now soon to graduate, he is looking towards the future with anticipation. His Black leather handbag is hip, stylish, and chic. The bag cleverly has four zipper pockets on the front, which resemble the four leaf clover logo of Lucky Brand. Over all each designer did an amazing job designing their hand bags, and in the end, the rewards were worth it. Congratulations to each designer. The world looks forward to your fashions and accessories. Handbags will be sold in Lucky Brand stores Nationwide.
